0.1 CE-TEX-Grand Rapids, MI
2’x2’ Steel flooring used in industrial building were necessary piping, electric, phones, etc could be installed under the flooring. Red Stag Engineered a destacker for the wood insert, which after glue was applied, was placed into the bottom steel plate. The top was then placed on top of each panel. The panel was indexed into a hydraulic press for heat pressure with a 3 second dwell time. The system included destacker, punch press, coil feed, top and bottom turn over device, glue application necessary conveyors, and a six-station hydraulic press. Each station has heated platens. Full PLC controls production station for the complete line. Produced (6) compete panels every minute or 2780 per day @ 80% production.
0.2 Vollrath Co.-Sheboygan, WI
Stainless steels pans for buffet line. Competition from off shore was very competitive. Vollrath system was Engineered to make 100% all the sizes necessary for the market. This was done using three hydraulic presses and three mechanical presses. The system was Engineered for blanks or coil depending on size and volume. With automation Vollrath could ship with one week a complete buffet system. The system also omitted a $7 million inventory plus opened additional manufacturing floor area. Red Stag has a video.
0.3 Green Mfg-Racine, WI
Filter Line. Was engineered from coil to skin wrap on skids. The line can reproduce (6) six different sizes. We used two coil lines and two hydraulic presses to produce the top, bottom, and insert. Complete line operation at 12 filters per minute or over 5,000 per day. Red Stag has a video.
0.4 KA Industries-Wausau, WI
Steel trays with a mouse pad for computer key boards. Red Stag engineered tooling and rebuilt a used hydraulic press with new controls for production use. Red Stag did the R&D and worked on the design so the mouse pad has two positions for right handed people or flip 180 degrees for left handed people. Red Stag has photos.
0.5 Phenix Composites-St Peter, MN
Red Stag designed and built the tooling with heating elements both for top and bottom to omit heat lost from the outer edge. Heat and pressure was necessary to compress and dwell for two finished panels each 4’ x8’x1”. The automation included a custom 1600-ton hydraulic press, tooling, pre- fill of composite material, removal of finished part and cooling. Red Stag has photos.
0.6 Briggs & Stratton-Milwaukee, WI
Engineering the vanguard engine line. System has four mechanical presses, three die carts, quick die change in tool taping, conveyor system controlled by PC with a powder paint area to handle four different colors, conveyor completed part indexed for availability. Red Stag has photos.
0.7 Carlisle Company-Carlisle, PA
Red Stag Engineered a complete system manufacturing lawn tractor wheels. The system has a hydraulic transfer press with coil handling, welding, powder paint and assembling. A new plant was designed for the complete line. The quality and cost make Carlisle a leader in the industry.
0.8 Copper Power Company-Waukesha, WI
Red Stag Engineered a system using a new 500 ton press and all the tooling for top and bottom covers for electrical transformer used on outdoor utility poles. Red Stag had to design the tooling so stainless steel or carbon steel could be used without quality problems. The production was a manual system.
0.9 K.D.I.-Cincinnati, OH
Red Stag Engineered the tooling and production cell for making the fuses for patriot missels. The finished parts are so small and had to be produced out of stainless steel with dimensional tolerances of .0001. Red Stag refurbished three used Minster presses so they would operate in a cell configuration with one operator. New horizontal coil feeders were used. Red Stag designed coil programming tooling for each part. Production was 25 pieces per minute. This was a first production experience in punch presses for K.D.I. Training was necessary by Red Stag Engineers.
1.0 Roper Range Division of G.E.-Lawrenceburg, TN
Red Stag Engineered a Quick Die Change system for a 5 press transfer line, Die Carts, Storage and Staging racks for a weeks production plus interfaced controls, lifters, and die movement. Change over in all presses 10 minutes.
1.1 Speed Queen-Searcy, AK
Red Stag Engineered a Die Change system were each die weighed 30,000 lbs. A three level storage handling 18 individual dies. The system was engineered with a staging area and a die cart which could handle two separate dies. The system could make a complete die change over in less than five minutes. With full automation, dies could go back into their individual storage area without use of an operator. Red Stag has a video.
